Pilaf and European Neighbours’ Day at Islamo centras

On May 28, the Islamic Center hosted an event dedicated to European Neighbours’ Day, bringing together members of the Center’s community and people living in the surrounding neighborhood. The aim of the event was to strengthen mutual connections, promote a sense of community, and provide an opportunity for people to get to know one another better.

During the event, guests were served traditional plov, which provided an excellent opportunity for conversation and friendly socializing. Participants were able not only to enjoy the meal but also to learn more about the activities of the Islamic Center and the Muslim community in Lithuania.

One of the most important parts of the event was a discussion on the rights of neighbors in Islam. Participants learned that Islamic tradition places special emphasis on good neighborly relations, encouraging people to respect their neighbors, assist them, maintain positive relationships, and avoid any actions that could cause them harm. It was emphasized that showing respect and care for neighbors is an important duty of a Muslim, regardless of the neighbor’s nationality, religion, or background.

Guests were also invited to tour the Islamic Center’s facilities. During the visit, they became acquainted with the Center’s activities, spaces, and ongoing projects. Open dialogue and a welcoming atmosphere helped build mutual trust and strengthen good relations between community members and their neighbors.
