End of Ramadan celebration in Vilnius

On March 30, 2025, a historic Eid ul-Fitr (the celebration marking the end of Ramadan) congregational prayer took place at the Vilnius Pilaitė football arena, attended by approximately 1,000 worshippers. This was the first time that the prayer for this significant Muslim holiday in Vilnius was organized in such a venue, reflecting the community's growth and the need for a suitable space for this solemn occasion.
The event began early in the morning as families, friends, and other members of the Muslim community gathered at the arena. The prayer was led by the chief imam, who delivered a sermon immediately afterward.
The gathering also provided an opportunity to reconnect with old friends, meet new members of the community, and collectively rejoice in the special occasion of Eid ul-Fitr.
One of the most important aspects of this celebration is remembering God's blessings. Throughout the month of Ramadan, believers abstained from food, drink, and marital relations during daylight hours, disciplining their will and deepening their God consciousness. Thus, during the celebration marking the end of the fast, worshippers reflect on the fact that every bite of food and sip of water is a gift from God, for which they must be grateful.
The Islamo Centras is delighted to have organized such an event. This occasion marks a new chapter in the life of the Lithuanian Muslim community, highlighting both its growth and its commitment to strengthening mutual bonds and preserving religious traditions.
